Site of a substantial World War One internment camp The PoW camp was set up on the rifle range of the Holsworthy Military area.
Internees if Italian, German and Japanese nationality were held there temporarily while awaiting hearings in Sydney. For this reason they were not employed but did cultivate gardens, play soccer and attend lectures.
It was closed in 1946.
