Carlo Vannucci (Bocco) was born in Viareggio, province of Lucca, in 1920. He was captured in Bardia, then was held captive in Bombay until being transferred to Australia in 1944. He was a Prisoner of War in Cowra Prisoner of War Camp 12 (NSW) from 1944 until repatriation in 1946.
Full biographical data
Carlo Vannucci (Bocco) was captured in Bardia on 5 January 1941, then transferred to Bombay where he was held captive. From Bombay Carlo was transferred to Melbourne where he arrived on 26 April 1944 and was interned as a Prisoner of War from 27 April 1944 in Cowra Prisoner of War Camp 12 (NSW) until repatriation on 23 December 1946 on "Alcantara". Carlo Vannucci died on 30 September 2015 in Viareggio, Italy.
