Lamberto Yonna was born in Ancona on 16 June 1891. He came to Australia in 1920 and resided in Sydney where he taught languages. He was anm Internee from 1941 until 1944. Yonna died in Australia in 1967.

Lamberto Yonna has been a resident in Australia since April 1920, arrived to Fremantle by "Minderoo". Served in Bersaglieri Copr Italian Army 1914-1918. Joane Tapiolas notes that he was a Sydney businessman, taught languages at Yonnas School of Languages Sydney and while interned he held art classes, after release and end of the war he opened an import-export business Yonnas Agencies George Street Sydney. In 1952 became a Commissioner of the Peace for the state of New South Wales. Was captured at his address in Darling Point in Sydney, transferred to Hay, then to Orange. Then evacuated to the 113th Australian General Hospital, marched in ex Loveday, sent to Wayville in Adelaide pending release and then was released.
